Doug Schaedler, Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Schaedler brings valuable experience in both business development and operations. Prior to joining UTEK, Mr. Schaedler served as a Principal at Praxis, a software and telecom investment company. Previously, he was the Director of Corporate and Strategic Development at VerticalNet, Inc., and was a founder of Buyersunite, an innovative purchasing aggregation firm he started while in business school. Mr. Schaedler received a B.A. in economics from Tufts University and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business. Mr. Schaedler is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce in Tampa.

Carole Wright, CPA, Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Wright is UTEK's Chief Financial Officer and has served as its Secretary and Treasurer since June 1999. From 1987 to the present, Ms. Wright has also been a partner of Myers & Wright, P.A., a certified public accounting firm in Tampa, Florida. She has conducted a diversified accounting practice in Tampa, Florida for 18 years. Ms. Wright received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Tampa.

Bill Cawley, Senior Vice President

Mr. Cawley is UTEK’s Senior Vice President. Mr. Cawley brings 28 years of diversified sales & business development experience to UTEK. Prior to working at UTEK, he worked across several divisions of the IBM Corporation as a Principal, Practice Executive, National Sales Leader and has expertise and experience as an IBM Certified Project Manager. Mr. Cawley attended Villanova University and the University of Tampa.

Peter Skarzynski, Managing Director – Strategos

Peter joined the Company through UTEK’s acquisition of Strategos. For over 20 years, Peter has helped senior managers set strategic direction, capture new growth opportunities and make their organizations more innovative. His experience cuts across industries and includes retail, consumer products, publishing, financial services and technology companies. His primary focus has been to help client organizations renew their core business through competence leverage and break-through business concept innovation. Peter is widely published on the topic of innovation and has written for such publications as The Wall Street Journal, CEO Magazine and The Drucker Foundation. He is a frequent corporate and conference speaker. His book (with Rowan Gibson), Innovation to the Core (March, 2008) is recognized as the first to describe how large organizations can build and sustain a company-wide innovation capability. Peter holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing and a B.A. (with Honors) in Policy Studies and Economics from the University of Chicago.

Ian Pallister, Managing Director – Innovaro

Ian joined the Company through its acquisition of Innovaro. He has over twenty years experience across a range of sectors as diverse as food and beverage, automotive, banking and government. He has deep content knowledge within the Innovation / Strategy / Business Transformation areas and a track record of formulating and implementing strategic change that has delivered significant benefit to clients. Ian has a B.Eng (Hons) in Engineering Science from Liverpool University and MBA from Durham University where he has been a Visiting Tutor in Business Strategy since 1992.

Sam Reiber, J.D., Vice President and General Counsel

Mr. Reiber, J.D., is UTEK's V.P. and General Counsel. Mr. Reiber has conducted a diversified practice of law for 25 years. Mr. Reiber's practice includes all types of real property, corporate matters, litigation and estate planning. He received a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Minnesota and a Juris Doctorate from the William Mitchell College of Law.

Terresa Zimmerman, Vice President Marketing

Terresa brings with her twenty-years of global experience in marketing, branding, business development and communications in the technology and finance sectors, among others. Formerly, Zimmerman served as Director Strategy at Siegel+Gale, as a Director at Landor Associates and as SVP & Managing Director Asia Pacific at Brodeur Worldwide. Educated at Santa Clara University with complementary studies in Rouen, France, Zimmerman has also lived and worked in Brussels, Amsterdam, Hong Kong and Tokyo. She serves on the Smithsonian American Art Council and as advisor to the Santa Clara University Global Social Benefit Incubator.
